Haiku I: On The World We Leave Behind

by Default avatar Libra 1 min.

Trees outside burn now

Their water is not flowing

I sit in comfort

I cough, I am healed

Our world coughs, we look away

Day and night she cries

Birds outside windows

Brightest feathers, lovely songs

Sons will never see

I can see the air

From this window I look out

Lungs blackened by fog

I cry for today

We scorch the land that feeds us

I live for tomorrow
