I'll Mark You Mine

"PING" - rang my cellphone

You were on your way.

I was filled with unearthly joy.

You were finally coming home that day.

The doorbell rang clearly through the hall.

I opened the door to invite you in.

Wrapped up in a warm tan cloak.

You were the most beautiful sight I had ever seen.

I took off your cloak to reveal,

A dashing dress of silver, gold, and blue.

You looked up at me with love and hope.

Alas! Commitments were keeping me from you.

The green-eyed monster reared its ugly head,

When I saw that my brother had gotten to you before me.

But I soon realised that he didn't fully understand you.

My jealousy soon gave way to sinful glee.

My eyes drift to you whenever I enter the room.

"Look at me! Choose me! Hold me!", you plead.

My heart aches to hold you in my arms.

But I must control this growing need.

Your glamorous garments hide

Smooth and lovely skin within.

To hold you close and inhale your heavenly scent,

Oh, my! You're doing my head in.

Your scars and tattoos hold a promise,

Of laughter in the light, and secrets in the dark.

But my obligations, dreams and duties,

Compel me to subdue the spark.

You need me and oh! I need you too.

But the time isn't right.

Just one week more, my sweet little book,

I'll mark you mine on Monday night.

Hello! This is a poem I wrote for Lady Midnight when the book was delivered a week before the end of my exams. Kinky, I know!
