When the days tick away by the olden clock,
The wind and rain erodes the stone,
But the promises we made still hangs by the lock,
And the key, oh the key, is lost and alone.
We were meant to keep that love together,
In a dance and kiss meant to last forever,
But I see that you grew distant and left me alone,
And in this war called love, you were first to surrender.
We were meant to hold fast to love than desire,
To keep our hearts from turning cold and ash,
But I see that you went through the fire,
And in this war called love, you were too rash.
And now, I stand alone and cold,
By the hearth we once called home,
And when that blue dome we call the sky,
Lifts my heart to go and roam.
To roam the battlefields of this war called love,
To see where I lost and where I lost.
To venture out and seek that freed dove,
The dove that made my heart turn into frost.
Yes! Yes! I still seek you, my love!
I am still blind, still deaf, still, oh so very dumb!
Even if you would keep on to shove me away,
I will still love you with a heart gone numb.
It is sad, depressing, and even evil,
To still love a person who threw you away,
But here I am at your doorstep,
Hoping I still find a way.
And in this war called love,
Where I fought for my love,
For you, for you, all for you!
But, all you did was shove and shove,
and you shoved me away.
